Materials Science & Engineering.  Students pursuing a Materials Science & Engineering degree should apply for a scholarship through the Price College of Engineering. It is only necessary to apply through the college website to be considered for BOTH college and departmental scholarships in MSE.

Metallurgical Engineering.  Students pursuing a Metallurgical Engineering degree should apply for a DEPARTMENT scholarship (up to $10,000) and/or a COLLEGE scholarship through the CMES (College of Mines and Earth Sciences) website.  For a scholarship through the department, please fill out the appropriate form, either for freshmen and transfer students or for continuing students. After completing the form, print, sign, scan, and email to Sara Wilson. Unfortunately, at this time, you will need to fill out TWO separate applications in order to be considered for each scholarship. Please note that almost everyone that applied for a scholarship at the college level AND the department received funds from BOTH sources last year.

Please note: Those students pursuing an MSE degree should NOT apply in the College of Mines and Earth Sciences or MET E. The same is true for those students pursuing a MET E degree. Please do not fill out an application on the College of Engineering website if you are NOT pursuing a Materials Science & Engineering Degree.

We apologize that we have not been able to streamline this application process. For now, please follow these instructions.

Should you have any questions about scholarships, please contact Sara Wilson at sara.j.wilson@utah.edu.
