Become a Student Ambassador and earn $20/hour while sharpening your skills in science communication and outreach! In this role, you’ll travel to high schools across Salt Lake, Davis, and Utah County (mileage reimbursed) to share your passion for engineering and materials science—whether it’s talking about Nitinol, polymers, scholarships, or our exciting materials competition.
You’ll gain hands-on experience presenting to diverse audiences—sometimes running interactive classroom demos on Metallurgy and Materials Science, other times engaging the public at Discover Engineering events. You’ll also flex your creativity by producing social media content—fun videos, group shots, and behind-the-scenes posts that connect science to the community.
This position is designed to fit your college schedule, with hours arranged around classes and school visits. Along the way, you’ll strengthen your public speaking, learn how to explain complex ideas in accessible ways, and build confidence in connecting with students, families, and educators.
