SALT LAKE CITY - The Department of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) held it's annual Senior Banquet on Thursday, April 3rd at the Fort Douglas Officer's Club on the campus of the University of Utah.
Students, faculty and staff attending a dinner and program where all 11 graduating MSE Seniors presented their Senior Capstone Design project. The content and poise of the presentations, poster design and defense of the project were graded by the MSE faculty and awards were given to the top three Seniors. Which were;
FIRST PLACE - Stephanie Prochaska (Title: Developing a Superhydrophobic Transparent Coating for Medical Device Applications)
SECOND PLACE - Joseph Goodrick (Title: Ag@Pt Core-Shell Nanoparticles for Fuel Cell catalysis)
THIRD PLACE - JaDee Bodell (Title: Design and Testing of a Deep Level Noise Spectroscopy System)
Additionally, the MSE Department honored Stephanie Prochaska as the top senior of the 2014 graduating class. She excelled in the classroom while involving herself on campus with outreach programs, Student Advisory Council and other department and college committees. She has always been eager to share her love of the department, materials science and the university.
Next year's Senior Banquet is set for Friday, April 10th, 2015 at the Officer's Club.
