Megan Prestgard receives ARCS Award for Outstanding Research

Congratulations Megan!

Megan Campbell Prestgard (BS '12) was selected as one of four students at the University of Utah to receive the 2012-13 Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation's $15,000 cash award.

Megan joined Professor Ashutosh Tiwari's research lab as an undergraduate researcher in Spring 2011 focusing on strongly correlated oxides. She wrote two journal articles and one poster presentation at the 2012 MRS Spring meeting in San Francisco, CA.

Upon finishing her undergraduate degree, Megan was accepted into the Materials Science and Engineering Ph.D. program working in Professor Tiwari's research group on a NSF sponsored projected title, "Uncooled Sprintronic Radiation Detectors."
